We have been monitoring large number of websites over long period of time. Besides monitoring of websites fault and performance, we also identify our customer site locations and service providers. We noticed that many websites owners switch their hosting provider. We make a table where we sorted hosting providers by number of sites they lose or gain in 2008. Certainly the information doesn’t reflect the absolute trend, although our conclusions are based on approximately 120,000+ sites we are monitoring so they are quite indicative.
