Mon.Itor.Us   Free Network and Website Monitoring

April 30, 2008

69% Apache, 26% IIS

Web servers responding to http requests by default incorporate their web server and platform identity and versions. Although often sys admins close that options. From all the sites we are monitoring we could identify 37,391 our customer websites which has that option enabled.

As expected open source Apache web server is leading here. We heard about 60-65% of market share. According to our data Apache has more market share – 69%! Second was Microsoft IIS server with 26%. The full allocation by numbers and percents is bellow:

296 things that customers thought they are missing in Mon.itor.Us

We have analyzed the recent survey results related to what features people think they miss in Mon.itor.Us. Bellow you will find all the survey responses and our comments. Basically the missed features were categorized into 4 categories: 1) the feature exists in mon.itor.us, 2) the feature exists in premium Monitis, 3) the feature is in our roadmap and will be available soon, and 4) the features we are not planning, but maybe considered on our roadmap if more users asks us. Fifth group of users – and they are actually a majority – were quite satisfied with the current set of features. Here are the survey responses and our feedback:

23. Nothing

-

24. A little bit more overview/overlook in the menu
